HiMem is a memory-keeping app. It is built on a single principle: your memories are yours, and they never enter our custody.
The short version. Everything you capture — voice recordings, photos, videos, notes, and the titles, summaries, topics, and people HiMem organizes them into — lives in your own iCloud account, hosted by Apple. We do not run a server that stores your content. We cannot read it. We keep no copy.
HiMem keeps your data in your personal Apple iCloud account, the same place your Photos and Contacts live:
Because your data lives in your iCloud, it syncs across your own devices and survives deleting and reinstalling the app. It is lost only if you delete it, sign out of your Apple account, or exceed your iCloud storage.
HiMem can organize a memory — proposing a title, a short summary, topics, and the people mentioned. On supported devices this runs entirely on your device and offline. For devices without on-device support, or for HiMem Plus features, the relevant text may be sent to our AI provider solely to produce that organization and is not retained for training. AI-generated organization is always an editable draft; you decide what to keep.
If you grant permission, HiMem records the location where a memory was captured, so you can remember where you were. Location is stored with your memory in your iCloud, like everything else, and is never shared. You can decline, and HiMem works without it.
Each is requested only when relevant, and each can be declined or changed later in iOS Settings.
HiMem offers optional paid subscriptions through the Apple App Store. Purchases and billing are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; we do not receive or store your payment information.
HiMem is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
